Falle Wind Farm
Part-Time job position. Durham Region
We like to “work smarter, not harder” here at our Private Farm.
Learn about two uncommon horse sports: Polo and Combined Driving.
There is the usual mucking of stalls, but we only have 13 and we usually work in pairs. Turnout is usually not exciting as everyone is well behaved, well….most every one. Our barn is very tidy, and we like to keep it that way, so having a bit of OCD is good! Our barn is heated, we have a comfortable tack room with tea and coffee maker. In addition, everyone pitches in with a bit of grass cutting, trimming and paddock maintenance in the summer. If you are a GOOD rider, we have horses to exercise from March to November. Owners are on-site and involved in the day to day running of the farm, not absentee (although you might wish that!) We start at 8 am. In the summer, a full day on Thursday and Fridays usually gets the farm tidied up, chores done, horses ridden and the grass cut. In the winter, its cleaning the barn, grooming horses, and general barn chores.
Pay is subject to the usual CPP and EI deductions, we have you covered with WSIB, paid vacation, Stat holiday pay if you work, and sick pay. Ideally, we would like someone for Sunday and Monday, and full days Thursday and Friday. Approximately 24 – 30 hours per week, but more hours are often available. Tuesday or Thursday nights may be required as you will also be going to polo games.
We can train the right person if YOU are the right person. We are looking for friendly, and reasonably hard working people to join us.
Pay will be determined based on experience but won’t be less than $17.00 per hour.
No room for your horse.
Please have reliable transportation.
