Equine Veterinary Assistant

Join our team at Markdale Veterinary Services as an equine assistant and help us deliver a high level of veterinary care in a friendly, honest and compassionate manner.   We are a nine-doctor mixed animal clinic with lots of team support where we work hard but definitely have fun along the way.  From epic Christmas parties and tobogganing to catered lunches at the monthly team meetings, we strive for a happy and inclusive vibe.

We are looking for a person with hands-on horse experience that is dedicated to great customer service.  You should be able to work independently as well as part of the team and maintain clear communication with all team members.

Core Responsibilities

·         Assist the equine veterinarians by safely handling horses

·         Prepare and maintain equipment needed on farm

·         Maintain truck inventory and housekeeping

·         Enter invoices, make follow up calls and communicate with clients as directed

·         Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lb) and jog horses for 10-15 minutes
