Staff Testing Facilities in Racetracks across Canada

Looking for individuals interested in part time afternoon/evening work at Western Fair Raceway in London collecting urine samples from racehorses 1-2 evenings per week. Responsible for collecting urine samples, assisting in blood sample collection, sample processing and completing required documentation for Official Samples from racehorses for the Federal Equine Drug Control Program. Position opens in January with shifts available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fri starting at 5:30pm (subject to change). Each shift will last approximately 5 hours depending on the number of races scheduled that day.

Qualifications:

  • Have at least 2 years of experience handling horses
  • Must be comfortable around excited or fractious horses
  • Fluent in English; French is an asset
  • Ability to read, understand and adhere to procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be eligible to obtain a horse racing license with the applicable Provincial Regulatory Body (PRB) if required
  • Must not have any affiliations or employment with individuals or organizations that would be deemed to be in conflict of interest with the organization and/or CPMA EDCP including working for racehorse trainers or owners.
